You Are Loved

I love when God brings people into my life via messy stories. Mine and theirs. After a few minutes of pleasantries, we cut through the crap and get real about why we’ve met.

Recently, I was given another opportunity for such a meeting. And as always, I walked away in awe of Grace.

I was born for this…baring my soul, the messiness of my sin, and the grace of One whose mercies are new every morning. My passion is pouring out grace on those who’ve caused their own misery.

It never ceases to amaze me to watch their eyes fill with tears when I tell them that God loves them no matter what they’ve done. It fills me with joy to watch something click within them when I remind them that Peter betrayed Jesus three times, and still Jesus loved him. My heart leaps when I watch the guilty realize that their punishment was paid at the cross, and that they only need to rest in grace. I can barely contain my excitement when they grasp that God works in the gray, and that our black/white churchy {dare I say Pharisaical?} view of sin doesn’t limit Him.

I love to watch God step into a muddy mess, and flood it with grace and redemption as He wraps His arms around His beloved child! Yes, this is when every fiber of my being is acutely aware of how much He loves us.

I don’t normally share new songs here, but my passion {reminding the guilty that they are loved, that they are not alone} lies within this one my writing partner and I wrote a few weeks ago:

If you don’t remember anything else today, I hope you remember these words: YOU are loved.

  1. “we cut through the crap and get real about why we’ve met.” ~Love that!! You have a beautiful voice! I so relate to your mission statement, if you will, it’s one of the things that drives to me keep on writing.

Letting others know there is beauty from their ashes, and there’s no mess that God can’t handle. Blessings!

  2. I cannot tell you how much I needed to hear those words today. Thank you.

  3. Keep telling people the truth: That they are loved and redeemed.
    That is the gospel.
    That is truth.
Grateful for your desire to share the love of a redemptive God with the world.
    Oh, how it needs it.

The words are true, the voice is beautiful, the song is sacred. Thank you for sharing this gift Rebekah. We must know we are loved–truly loved by our gracious and forgiving God–or we will die inside. When you get to “Oceans of Mercy, Oceans of Love” (after your 3-month reading fast), you will know why I feel loved.
    Bless you for sharing!
    Love
    Lynn

I am truly thankful for the people God has placed in my life, especially lately. I do not know what I would do without them and their support! Psalm 32:3 “When I kept things to myself, I felt weak deep inside me.” Psalm 31:9 ” Lord, have mercy, because I am in misery. My eyes are weak from so much crying, and my whole being is tired from grief.” Your new song is beautiful, and it is wonderful to be reminded that I am loved!

    • Tami, you are blessed to have support! I love Psalm 32. It was a lifeline for me. Thank you for your kind words. I’m glad you enjoyed the song. :)
