A stately house once stood, both built and ruined with tears and blood Perhaps a peek through a window pane would’ve revealed too much Might would’ve known they’d wind up walking on broken glass That house was a home but its foundation had massive cracks The walls tumbled down when light and laughter ceased, replaced by battlegrounds All that’s left standing is a tower of bricks where a fire burned out It’s destined to crumble into rubble with one harsh shove Such is the story of a family and house that runs out of love
