Is today the day of freedom
Of restoration and redemption
When hope is revived and renewed
The sunrise of a new season?
I feel the hint of glory
Wrapping its way around my heart
Calling me back home again
To pen and play songs of Story
Is today the day of jubilee
When all that’s wrong is made right
And forgiveness has its way?
“May it be today” is my plea
Thank you for this, REbekah. This is *my* prayer today, too, as I struggle to write something, promised. May this be the day we both pick up our pens, and words of jubilee and jubliation and newness pour forth. Thank you for your hope and encouragement.
Love
Lynn
I hope you found the words you needed today, Lynn.
I, too, long for this day. I’ve been toying with this notion of an “inaugurated-but-not-yet-consummated Jubilee.” Thinking of what my life would look like if I “acted as if” Jubilee is the ultimate reality in the here and now? This has turned me upside down in many ways. At any rate, thank you, Rebekah, for these powerful, penetrating words. I continue to be thankful for the poets among us, like you.
